Louisville Angel Investor Network
Organizational Summary

Overview
The Louisville Angel Investor Network seeks investment opportunities, in startup or existing companies, with management teams that are focused on growth and offer the potential for superior investment returns. Opportunities can be in any industry sector and from any location, with a preference for industry sectors that are well-understood by at least one member of the group. The group will also consider opportunities to invest in private equity funds.

The group currently has twenty one members and primarily recruits ‘super-accredited’ individuals to join. Investment decisions are made by each individual. A sidecar fund is not anticipated at this time. The group was founded by Growth Services in September 2007 after a 12 month planning process.

Services offered to the group:

  1. Find & filter deals – We conduct initial reviews and produce a short summary with information on the business proposal, management team, market opportunity, deal terms, financial scenario, etc. We use www.Angelsoft.net for pipeline management and centralized document storage.
  2. Administer the investment presentation process – We organize a review committee from the membership to screen companies before they present. We also arrange dinner/lunch meetings for presentations every other month, or as the best opportunities warrant.
  3. Coordinate further diligence – We organize follow-up meetings for those interested in an investment. We provide access to our network of service providers for those who need assistance with diligence or closing.
  4. Manage member’s needs – A membership fee of $1,500 per year covers all costs of membership, including meals and administrative expenses. We also maintain regular personal communication with each member.

Regional Collaboration
The group sees great value in active syndication of deals and hopes to participate in deal flow throughout the Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Lexington, Louisville, Nashville and Owensboro region. The group has referred each company in its pipeline to groups in this region.
